Visions of Future Farming: 
PhD Expedition Cycling from Land's End to John O' Groats

Visions of the future help us shape the present. What are the dominant visions of future food production in the UK? How do British farmers respond to these visions? And what visions do farmers themselves hold of the future of farming? To answer these questions, I am planning to cycle over 2,000km from Land’s End in Cornwall to John O’ Groats in Scotland, stopping along the way to interview farmers for my PhD research. By cycling a cross-section of the country, I hope to speak with farmers across different geographical and farming contexts, allowing me to “collect” a range of visions for the future of farming.
